Chinese Honor Society Participates in Diversity Day!

Last Tuesday was Diversity Day at Jericho High School, and to celebrate, the Diversity Club held performances in the auditorium during the day for students and teachers to enjoy, as well as at night for other members of the community to see. Jericho is so unique because of its diversity. Students were able to express themselves and their backgrounds through song and dance. The Chinese Honor Society also had the chance to perform, performing the popular 小苹果 (Little Apple) dance. 小苹果 is an example of 广场舞 (public square dancing). Thousands in China have been part of this dancing movement meant to get people to exercise, meet new friends, and have a good time. Four members of the Chinese Honor Society participated in the dance, and everyone absolutely loved it. The dance was a fun and exciting way to teach others in the school about Chinese culture and current trends, such as public square dancing.

Here’s the link to the tutorial of the Little Apple dance!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading about this and try the dance. 🙂
