This past October, 16 Jericho sophomores, myself included, were given the incredible chance of visiting China on a 10 day trip from 10/10-10/20. We spent our first few days in Beijing and then, on the 14th, we flew over to Xi’an. The latter part of our trip was spent with a host family in Xi’an. We were able to experience the life of a high school student in China. Their world is completely different from ours! With this amazing educational experience, each of us had the chance to familiarize ourselves with the Chinese language and culture in a way we never would’ve been able to in America.

Amazing video! It’s incredible that you were able to go on this journey with peers and have the opportunity to experience an entirely different environment. I’m surprised you guys were able to fit everything in such a short amount of time. For example, going to the Great Wall, the Baijia Dayuan Restuarant, Fanghua Pearl Market, teaching the kids, and even performing. This trip looked like so much fun!

Great video, Esther! I really hope you enjoyed your experience in China. I think this video will really encourage other students to go on the China trip when they are sophomores. Let’s hope our exchange students have a similar experience when they visit Jericho! Hopefully, I can visit China one day to have the same wonderful memories you had.

A job well done, Esther. This film truly recounts the wonderful trip you and your fellow students had together in China. Moreover, this video allowed every viewer to understand every thought going on every moment in this program: a true feat. I had the chance to travel to China this past June with another group, as wells my time in October 2017 with Jericho High School, and it was certainly an experience to treasure and look back on forever. I hope you, Esther, had the chance to look back on your journey. A wonderful final project nonetheless.
This video was beautiful! It takes me back to the time I went on the China trip two years ago. The Everbright City and the Giant Goose Pagoda looked lovely. I wish I could have gone there when I went as well. I hope the next trip’s group has just as much fun as you did!
This is such a cool video! Seeing the security detail for the premier at the terracotta soldiers must have been a sight to behold. It seems like the connections that you have built with your Chinese host families will last a lifetime. This trip in 10th grade was one of the highlights of my high school career, and I hope it will be a highlight for you as well. The graphics and music on the video were perfect and complemented the photos very well. I hope that children will continue to go on this trip for years to come! Keep up the great work!

The video was well-produced and entertaining. After watching the video, I am considering going on the trip myself. I have been on several trips to China, but this trip seems to be more immersive. On my trips, we only visited tourist destinations. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Great video! How was it like being halfway across the world from your family for ten days? I would love to go but that still seems very scary. I do hope that I’m brave enough to do so because the experience seems amazing. I’ve been to China before but I haven’t been to Xi’an. I have seen some terra-cotta soldiers in a museum but it seems like nothing compared to the experience that you had.

This was such a great video, I loved the music choice! Watching it made me so nostalgic about the China Trip last year. Ten days were definitely not enough to experience Xi’an or Beijing. If I had a choice I would go back to Beijing’s mall, bargaining with people for bootleg goods! We were given the opportunity to go to China and make once in a lifetime experiences with our peers and improve our Chinese while we were at it. I hope that I can go back whether it be for academic purposes or for pleasure.
Wow, this was such a nostalgic video. Great editing Esther, I wish we had another Chinese trip like this or more time last year, ten days was hardly enough time to enjoy everything in China. We made some amazing memories in China, and I really loved exploring Xi’an with our friends and exchange students. I made some great friends that trip, and it was an unforgettable experience. Going to school in China was also an incredible experience which has given me a much deeper appreciation for Chinese culture and society. Every once in a while I go back and look at all the videos and photos I took in China so I can remember how amazing the trip was and how lucky I am to have been able to experience that.
