Preparing for the Winter Olympics

This may seem very premature, but it’s never too early to prepare for the Olympics! The next Winter Olympics is in 2022 and will be held in Beijing! The preparations for this upcoming Winter Games began many, many years ago. The games will be taking place from Feb. 4 to Feb. 20.

Hosting the Winter Games in 2022, Beijing will become the only city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics! The official Beijing Winter Games logo is named “Winter Dream.” The official logo was designed by artist Lin Cunzhen. It features a skater at the top and a skier on the bottom. The blue color in the logo symbolizes the purity of snow and ice while the red and yellow are the colors of China’s flag.

There will be three competition zones, altogether hosting 109 events. The three competition zones are Beijing, Yanqing, and Zhangjiakou. The Beijing zone will host ice events and four snow events. The Yanqing zone will host alpine skiing and sliding and the Zhangjiakou zone will host the rest of the snow events.

In addition to hosting the Winter Games, February is also Chinese New Year! Participants and spectators will be able to witness the beauty of the Olympic Games and the beauty of China during their most famous national holiday!

I personally can not wait to watch the 2022 Winter Olympics and I hope you are just as excited as me! Until next time, 再见!

I can’t wait for the 2022 winter Olympics because the last time china did the Olympics in 2008 I though that they where a very good choose for the Olympics and they are starting to work on the winter Olympics when Japan is having their 2020 Olympics. It is also good that they are hosting the summer one and the winter one too. I like the logo because it looks really modern and really well thought out. There will be three competition zones, altogether hosting 109 events I like how many events they are going to have it is going to be a pact Olympics.
