This article was written by 圣吉 (Shèng jí). 圣吉 is a student from the Xi’an Middle School of the Shanxi Province. In this article, he is commenting how two of Confucius’ favorite students, Yan Hui and Zi Lu, lived. Yan Hui and Zi Lu had very different personalities, but both ended with tragedies. To conclude, though everyone has a different personality, it is important to know yourself and be willing to open for changes. The author suggests that people should be adaptable, and live in a down-to-earth life with high moral standards. Also, we are beyond lucky to have this collaboration. 颜回，内敛而深沉，忧心忡忡；子路，率真而强悍，表里如一，他们都是孔门第一流弟子，性情却近乎相反，足见夫子因材施教之高明。性格决定命运，不错的，颜回正像殷海光；子路却和谭嗣同在性情和命运上有交集。
殷海光学哲学出身，搞哲学成名，却死于胃病（得此病一重大原因乃忧虑过度），颇和大思想家子路在很大程度上星陨于郁情于内相似，可是，思想家，怎么能死于心病呢？就像神父不能因梅毒而入天堂一样！我认为，颜回的情绪是不正确的，因为心理上太闭塞了，太不快乐了，太情感化了，这不是好的人生观，应该思想自由（反求诸己，内心要豁达）而行为自律，为什么要把自己锁在“象牙塔”里，来“十字街”上走走又何尝不好？为什么要把自己定位那么高，时而和草木虫鱼同类岂不有趣？要以出世的心态做入世的事。
谭嗣同，就义与菜市口，和子路慷慨成仁的结局很像，子路会生肝火，会顶撞，不会谄媚，敢直言，敢质疑，敢和领导不一样，他不适合为政，却有知识分子该有的风骨，可是他却悲剧收场，死于非命，而他却绝不悲哀，他是英雄末路罢了。
看看颜回和子路，夫子在他们身上看到了他自己，他们的性情有机的结合才是至道：以出世的心态做入世的事。

忽视科学这点是中外不少人对孔子的批评。越来越多的证据表明，在孔子那个时代，中国自然科学已经有了惊人的发展和积累，然后孔子似乎并不在意这些科学，而是不断重复自己的教育思想。
但是孔子的教育思想却同样有着巨大的优点，比如他严谨的治学态度和启发式教学方法，都深深地影响着整个古代和现在的整个中国。
This article was pretty interesting. No one I know really talks about Confucianism so it’s interesting to learn something about it.

I think that’s it great that Jericho students and students from China have the opportunity to collaborate with one another. It’s also really interesting to read an article from the perspective of a student from China. This story about Confucius’ students definitely provides a good lesson about remaining open minded to all people.
I love how even students in China are inspired to write articles and spread awareness about Chinese culture! This shows how thedailychina is really expanding!
