Why do I speak Chinese? As reflected in one of my previous articles, Chinese has been a large part of my life. Thanks to http://whyspeakchinese.org/home/ I am able to share my love for Chinese and maybe even inspire others to as well! You can easily enter this competition too by following 3 simple steps! First, you must make a video about why you have chosen to take Chinese and try to persuade others to take it as well. Then, you just have to post this video on your social media accounts, such as, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. The post has to be followed with the #WhySpeakChinese on your public account. Finally, all you have to do is gain support for your video! Try to get as many likes as possible on your video. 
I chose to enter this competition to show my journey through learning the Chinese language. Throughout that journey, I have been able to learn more about my family history, Chinese lifestyle, and my own culture. Other people should have the chance to experience their own journey and possibly learn something new about themselves. Through this video, I hope to inspire many people to not only reach out to learning the Chinese language, but also learning their own language.

I think this competition is such a wonderful idea! It empowers students to reflect upon their education. In addition, it’s a great way to advertise the language and hopefully provides a way to get more students involved in learning the culture and language. Congratulations to you, Avery, and Nicholas for creating three amazing videos that I couldn’t be more impressed with! I hope that even more students become involved with this competition next year.
