Foreign Language Study in China

In the United States, foreign language study is a staple within many middle school, high school, and college curriculums. Among the languages being studied within the U.S, and is becoming increasingly popular, is Mandarin. I like how America and China seem similar in the fact that they both want to introduce foreign language studies in their curriculums. It’s great to see that those that want to study English or any other language have the opportunity to do so in Chinese universities and within their curriculum. If I was a student in China, I would take advantage of such opportunities.

Your article was well written. I like how you compared American and International studies as being different and noted that the culture in China was harder and more complicated to capture. I would definitely experience oversea international studies if I had a chance and would provide a great learning experience for us.

This was a very interesting article. Mandarin is one of the most unique languages across the globe, and people should be encouraged to learn about this great language spoken by nearly 1 billion people. However, I believe that the cultures behind the language should be enforced more because there are so many great life lessons to be learned. I definitely encourage oversea studies about this topic, and I would be interested in engaging in this study. THank you.

I found this article to be interesting, Mandarin is one of the most used language around the world. It’s hard to believe that when we are learning their language, they are also learning English to communicate with us.
