Mannequin Challenge!

A few weeks ago, Chinese III and Chinese IV students participated in a mannequin challenge in class as our way to celebrate #PengyouDay. The mannequin challenge has become a viral Internet sensation. In a mannequin challenge, everyone stays frozen, like mannequins, while the camera goes around recording everyone. Usually, the song “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd plays in the background of the video, but for our version, we chose to play “老鼠爱大米” (Mouse Loves Rice) by Wang Qi Wen, which is a class favorite. Many celebrities have done this challenge, too. Adele, Paul McCartney, Ellen, and many sports teams have participated in this viral trend. Check out our videos below and let us know what you think! Maybe you can even do your own:)

I like how you incorporated Chinese into the challenge with your song choice! It’s cool to see how these trends find their way all around the world and into the classroom. Thanks for sharing!

This was such a fun day! I loved celebrating 朋友 day with my Chinese class! One of my favorite songs is 老鼠爱大米 and I’m so glad we could use that song to do the mannequin challenge! I hope we can do it again!
