Hey guys! Here at the The Daily China, we’re always trying to think of new and interesting ideas! Now, we’re ready to unveil one of our newest additions to the TDC lineup: The Foodie Five. We’ll be looking for feedback, both positive and negative, in your comments and will be sure to incorporate any suggestions you have! We’ll try tons of new things on this show and can’t wait to share it all with you! We’ll also have special guests here and there who share our love of food and humor in future episodes, so look out for some familiar faces! Leave some video ideas down in the comments and we might pick your idea for the next video! Thanks for watching!

What a great video, you group of foodies. Bei Jing House is a great, authentic northern-style Chinese restaurant that i’ve been to a few times before. I was mildly frustrated with Wesley’s unwillingness to try the jellyfish, since it is my personal favorite dish. In the future, you guys should visit Panda Express, a truly authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine. I look forward to seeing many more videos like these!
This video was so entertaining! Personally, I’m not a huge fan of many Chinese dishes, but I’m open to trying new foods. I’ve never been to the Beijing House. It was interesting to see Avery’s reaction to the jellyfish. I hope to see more videos like this in the future. Thanks for sharing!
Interesting and different from all the other articles! I’ve been to Beijing house countless times before because my parents like the food there. Even though I appreciate the dishes, I don’t like the food much. I like the humor that the video incorporated (like the chopstick fail count), along with an educational guide of northern Chinese cuisine. Particularly at 2:38 when Wesley says “can I get some chicken”, I can relate!
This was such a creative idea! I hope to see more videos like this on TDC! I don’t know if I would have tried jellyfish, but a lot of those Chinese dishes looked really delicious! I’m hungry just from watching! I have never been to the Beijing House, but hope to visit there in the future! I personally love scallion pancakes and I would love to try some of the other dishes that were shown in the video! Great idea! Thanks!
This was such a great video! It was so entertaining to watch everyone’s reactions to the food. This was a great addition to The Daily China because it was very unique and a very original idea. My favorite Chinese meal is dumplings and this video definitely makes me want to try this restaurant. This video was great at showing the Chinese culture while also making it entertaining. I especially enjoyed Wesley and Avery’s reaction to the food and the chopstick fail count. This video was amazing and I hope you continue making videos similar to these 🙂
What a great video! This was such a creative idea that was expressed really well. I thought it was funny how Wesley barely ate any food. I was surprised when you guys ordered jellyfish. I never had jellyfish, but man did it look good. I hope that I can see more videos like this in the future.
This is such a great video, and I would like to see more funny videos like this on TDC. This really brings out the personality from the people writing all these delightful articles, and we get to see them as normal human beings. I would totally react weirdly if people brought out jellyfish or any dish that I’ve never tried before, so I can relate to Wesley. I also really love scallion pancakes, and although I am Chinese, I still have some more food to try it seems!
This was such an interesting video! The video was very entertaining and informative too. I liked the chopstick fail count and I got to see different Chinese dishes. I have never had the chance to eat jellyfish before, but it definitely looked delicious. I will be sure to check our this restaurant the next time I feel like eating authentic Chinese food!
I never actually knew about this resteraunt I guess i’ll Have to try it out some time. The food looks really goodn but are there really traditional Chinese dishes or are there Americanized Chinese dishes. Is there a traditional Chinese menu like we learned about or is there just one menu? Are there tables with the lazy Susan so it is easier to share with family and friends? I think this is a great addition to the website, and i’ll Be glad to see more videos.
Wow what a great video. Beijing house is a really great resteraunt. Ive gone there several times myself. I never did try the jellyfish, although im sure that it tastes great. But i have tried the other items you have eaten. I really liked this video because it was a lot of fun and put together well. I hope to see more like this.
Wow I didn’t know northern Chinese food was so different from the Chinese food I eat at home. It is great that the creators of the daily china took it upon themselves to film a video. Many other websites take pre filmed videos other people made. This video is also very educational not only on food but also how you hold chopsticks. My favorite food out of all of them is the scallion pancake.
This video is so cute and interesting! I am a lover of Chinese cuisine. I’m happy to say that Beijing house has some of the best and most authentic cuisine. It’s so cool that you guys are expanding your horizons by trying different kinds of foods. I hope I can join you on your next adventure!
I really like this segment! I’ve gone to Beijing House a few times before and have always enjoyed the food. I’m surprised Wesley was so hesitant to try jellyfish; it’s actually really good! Even through the humor and chopstick misuses I enjoyed how you guys managed to stay on topic about your favorite dishes and customs. Definitely should do these food review/chats more often.
Filming this was so much fun!! (Even though Wesley refused to eat the jellyfish.) I really hope we can do it again. Great job with the editing Nick! The chopstick misuses and little side jokes were really funny! I appreciate all the hard work! Keep it up!
This video was pretty funny. I laughed at Wesley’s reaction to the jellyfish. I also thought that the chopstick fail counter was really funny. I liked this video because it was well edited. I’ll be sure to go to the Beijing house soon!
What an amazing video! I loved how we’re incorporating logs into The Daily China now! That is amazing! The food looked awesome. Wesley, next time try the jellyfish. My first time trying it I was also very hesitant, but it actually doesn’t taste that bad. I especially enjoy scallion pancakes. They are one of my favorite Chinese dishes. In addition, the eggplant looked delicious. Great video! I hope I can join you guys on your next food adventure!
What an interesting video, this is so entertaining and funny! It’s an absolutely a new type of video on The Daily China! The food looked so good, but I never knew that the food at Beijing House was so different from the Chinese food that I ate at home. Wesley should really try some more Chinese food because, in my point of view, all the Chinese food that they ordered tastes really good. I absolutely loved this video and loved how they incorporated logs into the Daily China. It just gets more and more interesting to watch and learn more and more about Chinese culture in a way more fun way.
Nice video! I have eaten at that restaurant before and the food was delicious when I went there. Good job on editing and filming the video. Just one thing that irks me a little is that the video is almost 10 mins long. Can you find a way to shorten it?
Wow, this is an amazing idea! This video was very entertaining and creative. I believe that this spreads the content on thedailychina website. I think incorporating videos like this provides a variety of things to see for viewers on this website. Wesley’s reaction to eating jelly fish was very funny. In addition, this video was edited very well. The little jokes and zoom ins really made the video not just any ordinary one. I really like the idea and I hope to see more! This was a great way to learn about Chinese food places and what they serve.
This video was so interesting and well edited! I think the idea of going to a restaurant, trying food, and posting a video on The Daily China about it is a great idea! I think it’s great that you guys tried new food. I get why Wesley was reluctant to try the jellyfish, but I’m happy that he tried it at the end. I think it was great that you guys order a variety of foods to try. I can’t wait to see more videos from you guys!
Great Video! I have never been to the Beijing House but perhaps I will give it a try sometime. Chinese food can be intimidating sometimes, and its hard to try something that is foreign to you. I also refuse to try foods that I feel look different or “weird”. Holding chopsticks can also be hard. I cross mine, while friends have told me that it isn’t the “right” way. If it can pick food up, its the right way. Nice work!
The video was very nice and funny! I liked how in this article, it’s a video with live people reacting to what they’re eating. The editing on this video was also good and made the video a lot funnier! I was pretty sad when the camera died because the video was doing really good. I hope to a lot more of these videos in the future because this is my favorite “article” so far. I think the video would be even better if they asked more questions while they were eating.
Props to all of you for making this video. I have never been to Beijing House, but it seems to me that they have some delicious food. I know that some of the foods that the Chinese eat are very different from what we eat in America such as jellyfish, and as well might be a little bit scary to try; I totally see where Wesley is coming from. In addition, I think it was interesting how Stephanie asked a few questions throughout the meal; I was answering the questions along with the video. It is great to see how The Daily China is incorporating new forms of media into the platform, and are continuing to spread the Chinese culture through taking video of their experiences. Thanks so much, everyone!
I actually liked this video! This video made it seem like you had a lot of fun and I feel like I would like to try the place out now. There were a lot of comedic events during the video and I liked watching the whole thing. This seems like a different approach to the normal things on the daily china and freshens up the content on this website! The whole thing seemed like it was seriously edited but with fun mixed in while making it. Every time I go on the daily china it is something new to learn. I hope that you continue to do these new things on the daily china more often!
This video was amazing! I like how the daily China is starting to incorporate videos because now we have more visuals. It’s so interesting to see the different types of food. It was also really entertaining to see how Wesley didn’t want to try the jellyfish. The chopstick fail counter was also really funny, but I get how hard it is to use them. Good job!
This was a very cool concept for the video. This looked like going to eat Chinese is really fun. I was watching the video at every moment and all the dishes looked 很好吃 (meaning: delicious). I have been to that restaurant before with my parents before so I know what it would be like. There was a lot of jokes in the video that I really liked and I liked how you introduced yourselves in the video making the video feel more professional to the viewer. I really liked the quality of the edits made to the video. Even thought the video is ten minutes long I think the video had a lot to say about how the Chinese food is like. What I am curious to find out is what is the differences and the similarities between northern style and southern style Chinese food. Great video.
I think its very creative that you chose to make a video about your experience at the Beijing House. I have never been to Beijing House but your video makes me want to go visit and try the good. I can relate to Wesley about not trying the jelly fish because I would not want to try that too. I enjoyed the many chopstick fails you guys had and how you stayed on topic about your favorite dishes and superstitions. I hope you guys continue to make food reviews more often!
I enjoyed the video. IT was different from all the other articles we have to read. It was creative and we can see the effort put in. I’ve never been to Beijing house but I might try it. Great Job
I really enjoyed this, because this is unique. Also, ive eaten here and its interesting to see what other people might eat. This has given me some suggestions. It sounded very fun. Good job.
Cool Video. It was cool to see an article different from the others. This video makes me want to try more chinese food. It is cool to see what other people like. I have not been to the restaurant before. I hope to see more videos on different subjects!
This is quite unique, took me by surprise because I am so accustomed to finding articles on the Daily China. It was very nice to just see you guys as a group of friends hang out and just talk about your favorite foods and try some new foods. Some of the things there definitely look tasty. I hope to try them for myself one day. My only suggestion is that the background noise is a little too loud. However, your voices are still audible! I can confidently say I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Great video! This is definitely a great concept for tdc’s website and a fun lesson idea to learn more about Chinese culture. My family and I eat a lot in flushing, but weve never eaten at beijing house. It looked like you guys really enjoyed making this and the experience. I would love to see more videos on tdc’s website!
This was such an interesting video. I thought you guys were very brave to taste all these different foods. I also thought it was funny Wesley wouldn’t eat the jelly fish. I liked some of the comedy you guys added in during the video. I have never tried this place but may need to now. I thought this video was very creative. Overall great job!
Very interesting video, I hope you guys can keep up posting entertaining contents to TDC. I never went to Beijing House before. I hope to visit the restaurant and try some authentic chinese cuisines. The video gives insight of real chinese cuisines and eating habits. I hope that you guys continue to do these new things on TDC more often. There are also educational guide of northern chinese cuisine. Well Edited.
This was such an unique video! Looking at all those foods definitely made me hungry. I personally really want totry the eggplant. I have never been to the Beijing House, but I will definitely go next time. Overall, I really enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing!
This was an amazing video, the quality, the food, and of course the people. The video gives readers a “behind the scenes” of their personal life and helps the readers get to know the writers more. (Wesley definitely should have tried the jellyfish.) I can’t wait for more content like this. Where will you go next? You should try out some of the food mentioned in other articles including desserts/snack like the dragon’s beard candy or tanghulu etc…and give reviews on them too!
This was such an unique video. Looking at all those foods definitely made me hungry. I personally really want totry the eggplant. I have never been to the Beijing house, but I will definitely go next time. Overall, i really enjoyed this video!! Thanks for sharing!!

This was such an interesting video. I have never gone to this place, after watching this might have to. I really liked how you make a video of your reactions to the food, some of the reactions were very funny. It is such a great addition to the website.
I love this new idea of reviewing food over a video at restaurants. I really liked the comedy that was included in this vlog. I appreciate how you guys were willing to try new and unique things for the sake of reviewing the food for us viewers. All the food looked really tasty. I’ve been to Beijing House many times, so I’m looking forward to videos on other Chinese restaurants I can go and try. This type of content keeps TDC fresh, so I like it.
It’s a great idea reviewing local Chinese restaurants! The jellyfish looked so interesting and I love that recipe. The dessert was unlikely anything I’ve ever seen before. It’s always fun to learn about different Chinese cuisine and it’s easy to see how delicious Northern Chinese food can be. I can’t wait for you guys to review other ethnic foods!
This was such a fun video! I liked how it was different from what we usually see on The Daily China. Some of the food, such as the scallion pancake and eggplant looked familiar to me. However, I usually see jellyfish with different meats instead of over noodles. I always pass by Beijing House but have never tried it. Maybe I will go soon! Thank you for sharing!
I liked this video! The humor in it was very fun, and made this an enjoyable watch! I myself am rather picky. However, the dishes that you all tried look tasty! I may go to this restaurant in the future!
I really enjoyed this video and it was very entertaining. The “Foodie Five” is something different, unique, and fun which I think is a great idea. I’ve been to Beijing House before and I agree that the food is pretty good. Your video was very humorous and informative. I liked how you guys asked questions about the Chinese traditions throughout the video. I think you guys did a wonderful job on this video and I hope to see more Foodie Five videos from you guys!!
I loved watching this video! I am not Chinese, but I love Chinese food. At first glance, this seemed like people just eating at a restaurant, but it was very informative and entertaining to watch the whole thing. It was also very funny. I will definitely try to go to this restaurant and try the food there. Great video!!!
This was a really enjoyable video to watch! I have always passed by Beijing House, but my family has never eaten there. The food you guys ordered looked delicious, and I will definitely convince my family to go, although I don’t think it will take heavy persuasion. The jellyfish looked like it tasted good! I also liked how you tied in Chinese traditions with the food by asking questions during the video. I hope you five continue to post videos like these on the Daily China!
Great job guys, what interesting table conversation! Beijing House seems like a great restaurant with lots of different selection. I was riveted with the interesting topics you guys brought up. This is surely a departure from what is normally featured in The Daily China. I, too, do not know the correct way to hold chopsticks. Some of you guys had strange eating habits, and others had strange questions, but all personalities were definitely unique. I am sure we all are looking forward to the next video from the charmingly titled “Foodie Five”.
I enjoyed this video as it was both entertaining and different from all the other Daily China posts. I liked how you added comical effects such as the chopstick fail counter and the jellyfish scene. The video also taught me about several different types of Chinese dishes, and they all looked delicious. I can also understand Wesley’s reaction to the jellyfish, as I would react the same way if I encountered a dish that I had not tried before. The video was very well put together and edited with the special effects and the music. I will be sure to order some of these dishes when I go to Beijing House. I hope you continue to post videos in the future!
What a great video. I am an avid foodie myself, and enjoy going to authentic restaurants from other worldwide cuisines and countries. I also travel regularly, and take my knowledge of food wherever I go to , and apply it to my writings and conversations when I return home. The food looked fantastic, and as a matter of fact, I eat at Beijing House somewhat regularly, and always enjoy the food whenever I go there. What an ingenious collaboration, and I look forward to more videos in the future.
This was a very entertaining video! I’ve been to Beijing house multiple times because my parents aren’t used to American food and mostly only eat Chinese food. Personally i’m fond of all kinds of food whether it be from China, America or anywhere else. I also really do like this new kind of idea you’ve come up with, especially with the humor and facts on Chinese culture hidden throughout the video. I’d love to see more of this kind of content on The Daily China. Keep it up!
This video was really good! The food looked really good and the reactions were hilarious. Although I’ve never been to the Beijing House, the food looks appetizing and tasty. I like that this vlog can be added to the website to give it even more content that students can read and watch. I hope you guys can check out other restaurants soon!
Cool video guys! I’ve actually been to Beijing House before, and it has some great dishes. The food you ordered is some of the best the restaurant can offer. Comparing actual dishes from Beijing to the Beijing House, they are very similar, but obviously not the same. It is understandable that some of the dishes in Chinese cuisine may be unusual, but you should always give it a try. I’ll definitely order similar dishes you’ve had when I got back next time.
Wow that was a great video! Even though I have been to the Beijing house once, I have never really tried those foods in the video. I was glad to know you guys ordered Scallion Pancakes because that is a good dish. And also I like the chapstick fail counter, it was really funny! I hope you guys do more of these types of videos in the future and I would like to see where you go next!
The food looks delicious and they must enjoy that meal! I love eggplants and I hope I can have some in Beijing House. It’s very good that they enjoy Chinese food and I have to say they will be surprised by the large amount of Chinese dishes. I can also cook and I love Chinese food. I hope one day I can cook and eat Chinese food with my best friend.
This video was very interesting to watch! Even though I haven’t been to the Beijing House, I am super interested in going now. I like the distribuition of everything throughout the entire video and loved the special effects. Great content from you guys and hope you can keep making more of these kinds of videos. Nice work!
Hahaha love the video! Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to try it next time. Disclaimer to everyone: I did have the rest of the food but Nick choose to highlight the entire beginning part. Excited to see where this goes and can’t wait for the next restaurant. I definitely think it was a good idea to bring discussion questions. Hopefully, we get even more people involved as well!
This was such an entertaining video! I like the new addition of these blogs to The Daily China, they’re really creative and funny! I found the little edits such as the chopstick counter and the humorous captions to be very entertaining for a blog. I also thought Wesley’s refusal to eat the jellyfish throughout the video was quite hilarious. My favorite dish was the scallion pancakes. I always love to eat scallion pancakes made by my grandmother when we come to visit. Ths video really makes me want to go to Beijing House and try some of their dishes. I hope to see more of these videos in the future.
Thanks for watching, everyone! Seeing all these comments really gives us more motivation to make more videos! The entire process was fun from recording to editing. I found myself cracking up over our own antics while editing and knew all of you would enjoy the final product! We’ve already started discussing our next adventure, so stay tuned for more! Once again, thanks for watching and see all of you soon!
Beijing House is pretty close to my house, but my family have never been there. I think it was probably because the restaurant didn’t look that good..? But after watching this video, I think there are a lot of good food in Beijing House. The video was very fun to watch, and I learned some new dishes like jellyfish noodle. That looked pretty good. If I have a chance to visit this restaurant, I will definitely order that one.
I love how interested you guys are in Chinese cuisine. There was so much variety of food that was shown. I want to go there and try all of them. The editing was also so funny. Thank you for making this!!
Amazing video!! I love the new style and I think that you should keep doing these types of videos/articles. The food looks amazing and delicious. I might go there to try their foods as well. The editing in the videos was top notch as well. This video really put a spotlight on Chinese cuisine. Keep up the great work!!
The video was very nice and funny! I liked the idea that people were reacting to what they ate and it was also very funny. The editing on this video also looked really good was pretty funny as well! The camera died though which was sad because it was good.I hope you guys make more of these videos because it was very entertaining and it was my favorite one yet!
Wow! I like the foods in the video! It looks so tasty. My friend recommended it to me before, I just have not been there before. After watching this video I have to go check this place out. The idea of trying foods in videos is entertaining and I love it! Also I like how they edited the video it was so nice:)
It was so great to see you guys take a different approach to a tdc article by introducing yourselves and letting us readers get to know you guys more! This was such an entertaining and humorous video and the close ups and video editing made the video so dramatic and funny! It was also interesting to see the different north Chinese foods. I think that in my lifetime I’ve definitely had a lot more southern Chinese foods and haven’t really tried enough food from Beijing. I think I’ve had jellyfish maybe twice or thrice before but that was many years ago and I wish I could try it again because it was really tasty.
The food on the table looks really good. I have been to this restaurant before. Their food is actually quite tasty and authentic. The video was very entertaining to watch, but you should leave out the parts that are fast forwarded. Great job, I hope to see another video like this one.
我之前也去过这家饭店,真的很好吃,味道也很正宗。这里可以吃到超级多的中国菜,我记得这家餐厅就在长岛,我记得鱼香肉丝就做的很好吃。希望大家有时间可以去尝试一下。
This was actually it was a really fun video to watch. Food looked great and I liked the atmosphere. It was also hillarious listening to Wesley’s kosher concerns lol. I look forwards to future videos of the Foodie 5!
This is an amazing article and video! I think that this is an amazing idea. It’s a great way to spread Chinese culture and food! I’ve never been to this restaurant before, but now I’m interested.
